Few countries of the world can boast the diversity of history,
culture, natural beauty and outdoor accessibility available
in this one province of South Africa – KwaZulu-Natal.
From Big 5 game reserves,
to cultural villages, battlefields where blacks fought blacks,
the British fought the Zulu and the Boer and where the Boer
Trekkers and Zulu armies came to grips with each other,
to the spectacular and vast ukaHlambe Mountain Range, the
Drakensberg or “Barrier of Spears”.
Starting on the Coast in
the East and heading cross-country, we are able to enjoy
a huge variety of encounters. From swims in the warm Indian
Ocean to game viewing and walks in Big 5 country, to cultural
villages, long rides through areas where battles once raged
and along the line of the ukhaHlamba-Drakensberg World Heritage
site, recreational cycling was never so varied, interesting
or rewarding.
